How to Use Your SEBARIS® Clear Aligners

Your Daily Commitment

Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners only work when they are actively worn on your teeth. Consistency is the secret to a perfect smile.

The 22-Hour Rule

You must wear your Sebaris aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day.

When to Remove

Only remove them for eating, drinking anything other than plain water, and your daily oral hygiene routine.

Drinking Rules

Plain water is fine. For coffee, tea, or sugary drinks, remove aligners first to prevent rapid tooth decay.

How to Insert and Remove Aligners

Handling your aligners properly prevents damage and ensures they fit perfectly to track your teeth's movement. Your Sebaris kit includes an aligner case, a removal hook, and "chewies."

Inserting

  1. Start Clean: Brush and floss before inserting.
  2. Match Upper/Lower: Check markings ("U" for Upper, "L" for Lower).
  3. Front to Back: Place over front teeth first, then gently press onto back molars until it snaps in.
  4. Never Bite Down: Do not bite them into place; this can warp the plastic.
  5. Use Your Chewies: Bite on a chewie and move side-to-side for 5-10 mins to ensure a perfect fit.

Removing

  1. Start at the Back: Use the Aligner hook provided to slowly pull away from back molars.
  2. Work Forward: Release from front teeth last.
  3. Use the Palate Side: Remove from the tongue side, not the cheek side.
  4. Be Gentle: Avoid forcefully twisting or bending the aligner during removal.
  5. Store Safely: Immediately put them in your case. Never wrap them in a napkin!

Cleaning Your Sebaris® Aligners

Daily Cleaning Routine

  • Rinse Immediately: Rinse under lukewarm water every time you remove them.
  • Brush Gently: Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and clear antibacterial liquid soap.
  • Soak Daily: Submerge in cleaning crystals for 10-15 minutes, then rinse well.

What to AVOID 🚫

  • Toothpaste: Too abrasive; creates scratches that harbor bacteria.
  • Hot Water: Will warp and ruin the fit of the plastic.
  • Harsh Chemicals: No bleach, vinegar, or mouthwashes.
  • Colored Soaps: Leaves residue and permanent stains.

Side Effects & Attachments

Tightness & Soreness: Normal for 1-3 days when switching trays. Use chewies for relief.

Lisp & Saliva: Temporary adjustments as your mouth gets used to the aligners.

Attachments (Buttons): Tooth-colored grips bonded to your teeth. If one falls off, don't panic—the provider replace it at your next visit.

Traveling & Emergencies

Traveling: Keep aligners in your carry-on. Bring your current, previous, and next sets.

Lost Aligners: Contact your provider immediately. Do not skip to the next tray without approval. Provider may advise wearing your previous set temporarily.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I smoke while wearing Sebaris® aligners?

No. Smoking while wearing clear aligners will cause severe, permanent yellow staining to the plastic and can trap harmful chemicals against your teeth.

How often do I change my aligners?

Typically, you will switch to a new set of aligners every 10 to 14 days, as directed by your Sebaris provider.

What happens if there is a gap between my tooth and the aligner?

If you notice a small gap, it means the tooth isn't "tracking" perfectly. Use your Sebaris chewies more frequently to help seat the aligner. If the gap persists after 2-3 days, contact your provider.

Can I trim my aligners if they feel sharp?

If an edge feels sharp, please contact your provider and send a photo. Do not cut or file your aligners without professional guidance, as you may damage them.

Do I need to wear a retainer after my treatment?

Yes. Once your treatment is complete, wearing a retainer is mandatory to maintain your new smile. Without a retainer, your teeth will naturally try to shift back to their original positions.
